LEOPOLDA

LEOPOLDA

A terrace overlooking Florence

Located near the old Leopolda station of Florence, the project consists in the conversion of the terrace of a private penthouse.

The area is divided into two spaces of usage, defined by different floor materials and textures.

A wooden platform, extension of the internal living room, and a stoneware area that identifies the outdoor dining space.

A diagonal cut differentiates the two areas, deliberately intended as a strong and geometrical element.

The edges are treated with custom-made planters in white metal, functioning as decorative elements and accommodation for bamboo groups.

The barbecue area is yet clad in metal, creating a stylistic continuity but hidden when not in use.

In contrast, volumes with vertical wooden slats have been chosen as screens for installations already present on the roof of the building.

To close the composition, a flowerbed has been positioned in the middle, in visual axis with the interior of the house, composed of shrub species with ornamental seasonal blooms.
