BIODOLA
Single-family villa located in one of the most prestigious area of Elba Island, Tuscany.
The property climbs up the hill overlooking the Gulf of Biodola. The main challenge was to create a closed front, 13 meters wide x 6.5 meters high, to isolate and screen from the neighboring property. The screening strategy was intended to do not affect the property aesthetics and at the same time to increase the landscape harmony. Considering this aspect and the small size of the garden, the choice was to work vertically, concentrating the volume of the blooms on the wall to screen the neighbor without occupying the horizontal surfaces, which have been treated as green open lawns.
The green wall becomes finally a backdrop that offers different colors and volumes during the different seasons, blends with the vegetation of the hill behind and guides the views towards the sea.
The structure was entirely custom designed for the occasion, built near Florence, and shipped and assempled on site during the opera.
