LAG
“Lag” is a masterplan that blends architecture and landscaping, located in the countryside of Santiago de Compostela, north of Spain.
The competition program involved the new planning of a hillside previously used for agricultural and forestry scope, with buildings in a semi abandoned state.
The goal, to create a new gravity center for the development, promotion and educational activity about agricultural and forestry products of Galicia region.
The project aims to defend the relationships between naturalistic elements, combining architecture and landscaping in a sustainable, light and permeable way with the natural environment.
The agroforestry system includes educational areas and landscape platforms, new crops, new educational paths and a central area for social gathering.
The architectural program, on the other hand, includes administrative, promotion and development areas, a gastronomic and educational center and facility for processing the local products.
All using a sustainable bio strategy with low impact materials, natural construction techniques, renewable energy sources and a design integrated to the maximum in the local ecosystem.
