QIN HUAI XIN HE
The park is located in the city of Nanjing and extends for a length of 2 km with an average width of 200 m on the right bank of the new Qin Huai River, which runs from west to east in the heart of the city.
The surrounding urban areas have educational, residential and governmental functions, so the project aims to offer an area that can adapt its functions along the entire length of the park.
The park consists of a series of thematic areas, leisure gardens, playgrounds, service pavilions and naturalistic areas placed as interruzi¬one between the functional parts, so as to create alternation between natural and artificial elements.
The main curved path is considered as a primary mobility system, while a series of secondary paths cuts the shape and creates a more intimate mobility within the functional areas.
In collaboration with the local design institute “Jiangsu Weixin Engineering”.
